Based on 10 day monitoring of our preferences page we were able to gather some info from our users.

You may ask why the hell we did that and what we want with that data. Well answer is quite simple.
All we want to do is to improve OBeyond.

In order to do that we need info on which preferences you use the most and which ones you don't like that much.

This "recording" took place from 14-02 21:24:09 till 24-02 20:37:19

Info was devided into two groups for .nl and .com users. After leaving only unique users (based on ip) we got 481 result for .com and 319 for .nl

Upcoming 1.9.3 Sneak peak

A lot of folks lately ask us about what we'll bring next to the table, or how we can improve more world of Barafranca.

So in order to satisfy most of ya'll I'll announce what will be in upcoming 1.9.3 release.
Note that this is mostly maintenance release with bug fixes but it also brings something new.

Restyled preferences page

Code refactoring (tweaked and fixed most of wrongly passed arguments)

Fixed wrong quicklinks on statistics page

Implemented redirection upon bank transfer

Cosmetic tweaks on inbox (changed order of quick icons to cope better with admin msgs)

Implemented hotkeys to inbox

Fixed problems regarding BRC (Best Run Calculator)

Implemented ABL (Anti Bust List)

Implemented Nuke Settings (Nested at User Scripts Commands)

Fixed problems caused by missing captchas

Increased bullets checkers for AF

Fixed linkifiers for WS on .nl and for Family Invite on both versions

Fixed moving back to old page upon visiting profile and forum (problem caused by bullets checker)

Couple of cosmetic tweaks to make OB 1024x768 compatible

We still have couple of things on our TO-DO list but we're positive that you'll have your latest OB fix in 2 weeks at most.

Such 'long' time span is only because we're busy in real life so cope with us.

Dump site updated

In case you didn't know for some time now, we offer our users place to host simple images.

Server might not be the best one out there but so far it holds it's fort as it should and we're pretty much satisfied with it.

Few days ago I've got few messages regarding adult content on our dump site and because of that I've decided to get a proper hosting script.

With new script you're able to register and have all of your uploads in gallery (can be pretty useful I'd say) also it has stats and whatnot.

Anyway enjoy with this improvement and feel free to spam us if you feel that something is out of order or that there's some things that need further improvements.

1.9.2 Final!

It's been an long time since we had new version launched to public.

Our team worked on new version and fixing old bugs for more then 100 days and they're finally put together something that you'll prolly enjoy.

We're proud to present 1.9.2 Final!

This version brings us among other things performance and speed boost, but on the down side there are certain 'rules' that needs to be achieved before you can use it.

One of these rules is that you MUST have FireFox not older then 3.5.3 version and GreaseMonkey not older then 0.8.x.2 version. Also you MUST remove current version of OB using "Also uninstall associated preferences". After you're done with it you MUST restart Firefox.

In case you have older releases, please upgrade by following links we provided.

Now that you have correct version of Firefox and Greasemonkey you can head to our download page and install it.

Broken Marquee + Best Run

Hey all,

As you will surely have noticed by now the Marquee prices are gone and also the Best Run Calc is broken.
We are aware of this, it is due to the replacement of the botprices.php page the admins provided to get easy b/n prices for coders. They provided a new page, but sadly for us this in a new format. Which means we have to rewrite some stuff.

Since most of us developers have IRL issues atm, it will take some time before we can fix this. Until then, bare with us.

** Handy tip: the Best Run Calc will work if you click on the links on the Prices page

Update: Our latest random hero MrWhite fixed the Marquee

2nd Update: All problems should be fixed in our latest release of 1.9.2 Final. Go to the download page to get the latest!

As of Tuesday 10th November i won't be around at all indefinitely. My bots and bouncer will remain on irc.

Reason for this is fixing real life problems and implementing new stuff :D

Project will remain in Dopedog's hands as the only developer and hopefully there won't be much work for him.

As it's known, folks that are op+ on #beyond are part of our crew and you can seek any help from 'em regarding Beyond.

Omerta Prices TCL script

Today I've updated TCL script for ya'll bots.

omertaPrices.tcl has been rewritten to cope with new API for bots as well as removed all unneeded junk that was there before.

In order to use omertaPrices.tcl on your eggdrop you'd need http and tdom packages preinstalled.

As always download link is at the same place (Download Omerta Beyond -> Omerta Prices TCL Script)

Quick changelog:
0.1 - Initial Release
0.2 - Change GMT Offset regardless of timezone where shell from which this script runs is.
0.3 - Added v3 beta prices
0.4 - Instead of using 'split $prices "n"' i'm gonna use regexp now that will give us always correct prices even if there's some errors on page that displays 'em

Open call to designers

Those that are using OmertaBeyond on regular basis are seeing our logo 99.99% of time they spend playing Omerta.

As some users pointed out, our logo doesn't look THAT good on all Omerta Themes.

So this is an open call to designers to create new logo for us that'll cope well with most themes.

Edit:
We'd need .psd or at least properly optimized png. (optiPng/PngCrush/PngOUT)

Reward will be there as well.

Most important is that crowd will decide via poll who'll be the winner if we have more then 1 new logo.

Aside from having your name on our credits list we'll give you 2 DC's or 5 mil in Omerta cash :-)

If you feel that this isn't good enough, well you can send us your demands via contact form and we'll see if we can meet in between :)

Being that we're in age that internet speed isn't an issue no more this is fairly obsolete option.

Back in OB Headquarters we were trying to figure out which option is unnecessary nowadays ?

Our crew and rest of the helpers/testers gave their votes so I've decided to make this poll to see what you think about their most "useless/unneeded" option at the moment.

MySQL problems...

As a result of very poor coding from my side, we've managed to increase size of our logger database to 631mB.

10,890,702 records are in this database, spread across 10 different tables.

Anyway, reason for this 'news' is being that we're not owners of mysql server, so we're asked to purge current db and start gathering info from ZERO.

We have backup of current db so if anyone is interesting to take a peak you're welcome to ask so.
Size is ~41mb .bz2 file.

Thank you for your understanding. We'll try to figure out some better way of logging info.

BETA 6 is available for download.

Before you even try to install BETA 6 there are certain things that you have to do before.

One of those things is that you MUST uninstall (remove) the current version of Beyond who you are using, and use "associated settings" while uninstalling

We change internal structure of OB so it gets installed into fresh namespace ( means there won't be any conflicts with old settings even if they're left)

There's a lot of new things in BETA 6 but as name says it's still in BETA phase so if something is not working right or there are some glitches we'd like to know about 'em.

Time to move on...

We're very sorry to inform you that as of today support for anything older then version 1.9 will cease to exist.

Reason for this is mainly cause Omerta Ltd. changed layout to their game and our old versions doesn't work anymore.
One of the factors is also usage of newer API that comes from JavaScript and GreaseMonkey so you're required to use FireFox 3.5+

So if you're not able to access prices nor preferences page you're mostly out of luck and best thing to do is to update to newest version of Omerta Beyond.
